DIY: Happy Journals & A New Year

happyjournalsI can't believe 2013 is coming to an end and 2014 is quickly approaching.  I been reflecting a lot on what has happen this year and I can't wait to welcome 2014 while reaching for the stars! I have been thinking a lot on my goals and what I want to accomplish in 2014 and I have to admit, it's scary but like they say, if your dreams don't scare you, dream bigger and that is exactly what I plan on doing. I am going to greet 2014 with ambition, determination, and a whole lot of faith. 2014 is going to be a Make Things Happen kind of year and to hold myself accountable, I created these fun mini journals to write my goals down and document my Hoorays! and my Trial and Errors so I make sure I don't lose site of my bigger picture. 015When I came across these mini journals, I had no idea what I was going to do with them but regardless, they were adorable and $1.00 each. I picked up several of them hoping to use them in the near future. I came across these tutorial  and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my mini journals.

017I gathered various supplies that I already had in my craft stash. I used Glitter Letters and Pocket Pages from Me and My Big Ideas , some mini bows from the Recollection brand at Michael's  and some ruffle ribbon I had from a previous project.

023022I simply hot glued my ruffle ribbon and a mini bow onto a Pocket Page and then glued it to my mini journal. From there, I wanted to personalize each of my journals with my gold Glitter Letters. This project took me less than 5 minutes to create each and I love how each one turned out.

020016I plan on mailing these Happy Journals to some my friends to help them set their goals for the New Year and make the best of 2014!
