Girl's Weekend: Chicago
Last weekend, I headed on a plane for a girl's weekend to Chicago. Since I haven't been to Chicago since I was a child, I was looking forward to explore this city. Before I headed to Chicago, I ask for suggestions of places to eat or must see's while in Chicago and I got so many great recommendations and I wish my weekend had lasted longer. One of my first stops in Chicago was having lunch at Portillo's. It was so good! I had the Italian Beef Sandwich dipped with fries and their famous Chocolate Cake Shake. YUM! ( Thanks guys for the tip!) After lunch, we decided to decided to do some local shopping including visiting my favorite store, Paper Source.
I picked up some really fun paper goodies including a fun Chicago map as a souvenir. Another paper shop I visited was Paper Doll. That was a really cute shop with tons of fun paper products and lots of gift ideas. I am such a sucker for pretty paper and love finding fun shops like this one.
The next morning, we had a full day. I scheduled for us to have Blow Outs at Blowtique. It was such a cute salon and I was so nice to get pampered before a full day of shopping down Michigan Avenue.
After our blow outs, we headed to experience my first Chicago deep dish pizza! We made lunch plans at Giordano's with Vana of Le Papier Studio. I have known Vana through social media and recently had a business coaching session with her and it was so exciting to have a chance to finally meet in person. She was just as sweet as can be. After lunch, I had to make sure I hit one of the places I had on my list to do for Chicago and that was to visit the Sprinkles ATM Cupcake machine! Talk about a busy place! The bakery itself had a line outside the door and so did the ATM but I waited my turn and got myself a yummy Strawberry cupcake and a little photo with the ATM, so fun!
It was such a fun weekend in Chicago and I wish I had more time to explore the city more and more space in my carry on that I was sure was going to explode if I put one more item in my suitcase. Cheers to Chicago! I can't wait to come back!
